Muqdisho Contracts, Quantity Control & Training Engineer

Overview of position:

The client office helps a wide range of local and international partners improve the lives of the Somali people by implementing infrastructure and procurement projects. The clients operations have an increasing emphasis on developing national capacities and considering gender, environmental and community concerns.

Role objectives:

The Contracts, Quantity Control & Training Engineer’s role will be to give his/her technical expertise as required in the role. He/She is responsible for managing staff under his/her supervision and providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects within the prescribed parameters of time, cost, quality, environmental and health & safety. The projects may extend to all areas throughout Somalia but will be initially focused in South Central Somalia.

Expected output:

Accurate review and implementation of site works, ensuring the contract and designs requirements are being observed in accordance with appropriate/relevant standard(s).
Delivery of infrastructure projects to time, cost, quality and health & safety requirements.
Engineering capacity development and training of national personnel.
Ensure that the project activities are being carried out within the stipulated time. Cost and quality standards.
Prepare appropriate reports as required, including national capacity development and training reports.
Ensure team effort is provided for Client submissions or timely delivery and within allocated budget.

To the Project Manager.

Further information:

Postgraduate Qualifications in a related field are desirable
PRINCE2 or other Project Management Qualification is desirable
